Russell is situated in NZ's subtropical north and is one of the main gateways to the Bay of Islands.The township offers a rich history with cruises, jet boats,whale watching, diving, sailing and fishing charters, which depart from Russell wharf only a 10 minute walk away. There are wineries and many restaurants in the area and a golf course is situated across the Bay in Waitangi.
