Kerikeri is New Zealands \top small Town, it is a bustling, thriving, friendly town, with everything to offer the tourist. Very close to Pahia (15 - 20 minute) drive, where you can take a tour to Cape Brett and the Hole in the Rock.
Or you can visit some of the local beaches in the area - like Opito Bay and Doves Bay. There is the local Farmers Sunday Market held, with lots of crafts, coffee, art, fresh produce, etc for you to experience.
